"For your idea of manage, I guess. But we like bothering you too much." Edea paused, and then turned her head toward the kitchen, sniffing the air. "Something smells good!"
"I figured we could all warm up with something hot. Does hot chocolate sound good?"
"Of course!"
Ringabel laughed at Edea's enthusiasm, though he had to wonder what he would drink. Hot chocolate was too sweet for his tastes. Agnès caught his attention then, lightly brushing his forearm with her hand. "He also set some tea for us."
"Excellent!" Ringabel clapped his hands. "I'm always happy to share a drink with a lovely lady."
It was an old flirtatious line, and Agnès idly rolled her eyes. Edea was already bounding for the kitchen, Tiz following her, and Agnès and Ringabel brought up the rear. Tiz poured hot chocolate out for himself and Edea: his cup had a bit more milk than Edea's, but that was because she was getting about twice the melted chocolate. Once he was done mixing, his drink was a pale brown, while Edea's was rich and dark. While he was taking care of that, Agnès removed the kettle from the stove and poured two cups of tea. Ringabel took his up with an appreciative sniff.
He sniffed again when he noticed that the tips of Tiz's hair were trailing even lower now. This one was much less appreciative. "I could swear you haven't gotten that cut since I cut it. And that was, what, three years ago?"
"You're the only one he wants cutting it," Edea harrumphed, causing Tiz to nearly choke on his hot chocolate and then laugh guiltily.
Ringabel looked between the two, wondering--no, not much need to wonder. Edea had as much fashion sense as him, if not more, and must have hounded Tiz about the hair.
